About the Event

Roots, Stems, Roses Mission Statement

Under the guiding mission of the Snohomish County Black Heritage Committee (SCBHC), to enrich the residents of Snohomish County through the knowledge and celebration of Black heritage, Roots, Stems, Roses (RSR) stands as a living tribute to legacy, leadership, and love within our community.

We honor the Roots — the ancestors, trailblazers, and visionaries whose courage and sacrifice planted seeds of hope and possibility,

We uplift the Stems — the leaders, advocates, and culture-bearers who continue to nurture growth, resilience, and progress,

We celebrate the Roses — the blossoming achievements, excellence, and promise that inspire future generations, and

We encourage the Buds — those young leaders of today and tomorrow, who will continue the works of our forefathers
